According to a clarification note from Sonangol, this statement comes in response to information “released by Mr. António Vieira in an interview with Rádio Essencial on February 11 of this year, regarding alleged overpricing in the construction of the TOBD and the supposed registration of the property in favor of a private entity, Enagol.”
In the document, the state-owned oil company “strongly repudiates such allegations, as they do not reflect the truth and harm the company’s image and reputation.”
The TOBD is a strategic asset exclusively owned by Sonangol and has not been transferred, assigned, registered, or concessioned to any private entity, including Enagol, the statement adds.

“The terminal was designed to enhance the storage and distribution capacity of refined products in the country, remaining under the full control of Sonangol,” the note adds.
The construction of the TOBD followed rigorous auditing and oversight processes, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of transparency and corporate governance. “The allegations of overpricing are unfounded and defamatory,” the statement reads.
