Previously trading lower in the session at [dollar amount] per barrel, oil was poised to find support at $66.94 and resistance at $70.56.
The US Dollar Futures Index, tracking the performance of the US dollar against a basket of six major currencies, recorded losses of 0.04 percent to trade at 106.64.
Meanwhile, January Brent crude futures declined 0.77 percent to trade at $72.00 per barrel, while the spread between Brent and WTI crude stood at $3.84 per barrel in the contracts.
