AECIPA Day 2025 Discusses Challenges and Opportunities in the Oil Sector

AECIPA Day 2025: Industry Leaders Advocate for Local Content and Billions in Investment

At the opening of the event, the President of AECIPA (Associação das Empresas de Serviços Petrolíferos de Angola), Bráulio de Brito, reaffirmed the commitment to the country’s technological and human development through a modern, competitive, and increasingly Angolan oil sector.

“Just as independence represented the conquest of our modern sovereignty, the strengthening of local content today symbolizes the affirmation of our economic sovereignty,” he emphasized.

According to Bráulio de Brito, Angolan service companies are increasingly the indispensable pillar of our oil industry, having demonstrated technical competence, adaptability, and entrepreneurship “even in the face of challenges and a long road ahead.”

“Local content represents much more than a procurement policy; it is the materialization of our collective ambition to build a strong and genuinely Angolan oil industry,” he noted.

Exploring New Opportunities

In turn, the Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, considered that “AECIPA Day” promotes the identification of challenges faced by service providers, as well as exploring new business opportunities in the sector.

Diamantino Azevedo also cited the ammonia and urea factory in Soyo and the non-associated gas project as examples of strategic investments.

He further revealed that projected investments in the sector by 2030 could reach $75 billion, a sign of confidence from major international operators and a testament to the resilience of the Angolan oil industry.

The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of State for Oil and Gas, José Barroso, and the Chairman of the Board of the National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency, Paulino Jerónimo, who presented the sector’s outlook for the coming years.

AECIPA is the main association of oil and gas service companies in the country, acting as a contact point between companies and stakeholders.
