First Cargo from Agogo Integrated West Hub Project Exported During AOG 2025

The first shipment from the Agogo Integrated West Hub (IWH) project, operated by Azule Energy in Block 15/06 of the Lower Congo Basin, offshore Angola, was officially dispatched this Wednesday.

Authorization to begin loading was granted by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, during the opening session of the AOG 2025 conference, in a ceremony presided over by Diamantino Azevedo, Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas; Paulino Jerónimo, Chairman of the National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG); and Adriano Mongini, CEO of Azule Energy.

“This project is a testament to our continued commitment to harnessing natural resources,” stated Minister Azevedo, adding: “It is not only a technical achievement but also something that reinforces Angola as a benchmark in the continent’s energy sector.”

The Agogo IWH officially began production in August of this year and comprises the full development phase of two fields, Agogo and Ndungu, with combined estimated reserves of about 450 million barrels of oil and an expected peak production of approximately 180,000 barrels per day.

“The Agogo Integrated West Hub project is proof of what we can achieve when international expertise is combined with Angolan excellence,” stated Adriano Mongini, adding: “This has culminated in the development of the Agogo project, which stands as a global benchmark for ambition and efficiency.”

The Agogo IWH is operated by Azule Energy, a joint venture between bp and Eni, with a 36.84% stake, in partnership with Sonangol E&P (36.84%) and Sinopec International (26.32%).
