ANPG, Sonangol, Red Sky Energy, and ACREP Sign Agreement to Advance Development of Block 6/24
Angola’s upstream regulator, the National Oil, Gas, and Biofuels Agency (ANPG), signed an agreement on Wednesday with the partners of Block 6/24 during the Angola Oil & Gas 2025 conference in Luanda. The agreement aims to boost development activities on the block.
The deal was finalized between the ANPG, national oil company Sonangol, and exploration and production companies ACREP and Red Sky Energy. Located in the shallow waters of the Kwanza Basin, Block 6/24 holds significant potential.
The block features approximately 3,000 km² of seismic data and includes an existing oil discovery—Cegonha—made in the 1980s. The partners plan to utilize this dataset to evaluate the best strategies for field development.
