ANPG Targets First Gas from Angola’s Block 1/14 by Year-End 2025
Angola’s National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG), the national concessionaire for the sector, has announced that it expects first gas production from offshore Block 1/14 before the end of this year.
The announcement was made by Paulino Jerónimo, Chairman of the ANPG, on the first day of AOG 2025 in Luanda, September 3.
“We anticipate first gas from the block still this year and are working with our partners to develop the associated gas from the field,” stated Paulino Jerónimo.
The discovery was made in the Gajajeira-01 exploration well in July of this year, with initial assessments indicating gas volumes exceeding 1 trillion cubic feet.
Block 1/14 is operated by Azule Energy (35%), in partnership with Equinor (30%), Sonangol (25%), and ACREP (10%).
