Just one week before the main event of the Angolan industry, Angola Oil & Gas (AOG) is preparing to bring together stakeholders for two days of negotiations and strategic engagement. Held under the theme Angola 50 Years: Oil and Gas as a Development Factor, this year’s event takes place on the eve of the celebration of Angola’s 50 years of independence, marking a moment of reflection and renewed commitment to the country’s oil and gas future. Inaugurated by Angolan President João Lourenço, the 2025 edition has been designed to promote engagement, facilitate investment and drive the next 50 years of development in Angola.
This year’s event features ministers, senior executives and energy sector leaders from across the global and regional oil and gas landscape. These include ministers from Angola, Namibia, Gabon and others. Representatives from leading organizations such as ANPG, IRDP, AECIPA, ARDA, APPO and CITAC are speaking, alongside major oil and gas companies such as Eni, bp, Sonangol, Azule Energy, TotalEnergies, Etu Energias, Chevron, ExxonMobil, Cabship, Baker Hughes, NOV, Bosch and many others. This level of representation reflects the event’s position as the official meeting platform for the country’s oil and gas industry.
AOG is the largest oil and gas event in Angola. Held with the full support of the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas; the National Agency for Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels; the Petroleum Products Regulatory Institute; the national oil company Sonangol; and the African Energy Chamber; the event is a platform for signing agreements and advancing Angola’s oil and gas industry. Meanwhile, a defining feature of AOG 2025 is the event’s multi-track program, spanning three tracks that encompass the entire oil and gas sector and its value chain. The Strategic Track includes discussions on the role of the oil and gas industry as a catalyst for economic transformation, the role of onshore and shallow water operations, Angola’s deepwater potential, financing oil and gas development in Angola, among others. The Strategic Track runs during both days of the conference’s main agenda.
Additionally, a technical track will examine how technology-based solutions support oil and gas development. The track is oriented toward service companies, innovators and data analytics companies, with discussions covering fundamental topics from seismic opportunities to new frontiers, economic diversification, decarbonization and efficiency. The Technical Track also runs during the two main days of the conference. AOG 2025 will also feature the first Deals & Showcases Track – an exclusive program that encompasses a series of sessions that will explore the acquisition processes of some of the country’s largest operators. The track will also feature presentations demonstrating youth-led innovation, with the track occurring on the second day of the conference’s main agenda.
Preceding the main conference, a pre-conference program held on September 2 will offer an exclusive look at tomorrow’s technologies and products. The pre-conference will highlight next-generation technologies, with presentations from leading companies, including ANPG, IRDP, KAESO Energy Services, Sistran, FIRST E&P, ExxonMobil, Sonangol, CITAC, Corcel and COPIA Group of Companies. The presentations and workshops focus on supervision and quality control, advancing onshore pre-salt exploration, midstream and downstream infrastructure, energy transition challenges and opportunities, improving inspections and much more.
AOG 2025 will be the main platform to engage with the industry, sign impactful deals and expand your presence in one of Africa’s largest oil and gas markets. While premium conference delegate passes and Gala Dinner and Awards passes are sold out, stakeholders can still gain access through the event’s standard delegate passes, exhibition-only passes and pre-conference passes.
